The TV is my shepherd,
I shall want more.
It makes me lie down on the sofa.
It leads me away from the faith;
It destroys my soul.
It leads me in the path of sex and violence for the sponsors’
sake.
Yeah though in the shadow of Christian responsibility,
There will be no interruption, for the TV is with me.
Its cables, programs and remote control especially Korean
novels, they comfort me.
It prepares a commercial for me in the presence of my worldliness;
It anoints my head with humanism, consumerism, and
materialism;
My coveting runneth over.
Surely laziness and ignorance shall follow me all the days
of my life
And I shall dwell in the house watching TV forever.
An Appeal to the Christian Families - by Hazel Yee
This has been the case in most homes today even in Christian
setting. We have witnessed how our little ones, the adult and even the matured
in the faith turned away from the presence of God because we have been
controlled by TV, it is a sad reality that Christ is removed from the center of
our family and replaced not only by statues as our idol but also by TV which
offered sex, violence and materialism that has a negative effect on us. Like other
mediums such as computer and other gadgets, if we do not know how to control
them, these certainly will govern us making us a puppet in a string. We are
appealing to all Christians to be sober minded not gratifying the flesh but
allowing God the Holy Spirit to control us so that we may inherit eternal life,
for those who walk according to the flesh is govern by the flesh and will
inherit corruption. Think about these things…
